Please help! locate annoying squeek
Whats up fellaz? hey I have got a nasty scratching noise coming from my driver side front wheel. The only weird thing is it only is scratching in a certain spot. And it only does it afterI drive around for 30+ minutes.I cannot see any grooves on my rotors either. I have replaced the rotors and brakepads, and also greased the slides on the caliper. The clearance on the dirt guard also seems to be fine and my rim is not hitting either. The only other thing is checking to make sure the piston is not sticking right? I was just wondering if anyone has ever heard of a caliper piston sticking causing a nasty high pitch noise? any help would be appreciated.
Its a 1998 4wd I bought it for 1800 wrecked and finally got all the mechanical damage and body work done. Now that it's time to show it off it sounds stupid rolling down the road with this noise.
When i get all four in the air it won't do it. it may be the bearing like smoke said because with the weight of the truck it wont squeak. also remember that I can go for about 30-40 minutes before it will start making the noise and thats a long time to spin my tires freely.
