Hello, I am new to this form, but it looks helpful, and that I what I need. I have a 2001 GMC 2500HD. The other day I have backing up my trailer in 4 wheel drive and all of a sudden my brakes and power steering when out. In talking with other they said that the PS fluid may run the brake assist. Is this true and if so what should I look for? Is there a way to test the power steering pump? Any other suggestions?

tricky....make sure it has hydroboost (which it probably does)...you'll see a series of hydraulic hoes going to the brake booster behind the master cyl..

I've seen hydroboosts cause thyat..and I've seen pumps cause that...More pumps I imagine...
