Power Steering Pump making terrible noise
 

Hello, I have a 98 K1500 Z71, and the other night after work when I parked it, it was fine, then when I got in it the next morning, if I turn at ALL it makes a terrible noise, and shakes the steering wheel. the power steering works sometimes, but not always, is this the power steering pump? steering box? thanks

my steering wheel didn't shake when my pump went out... that's all i got...

Sounds like the pump...it has no hydroboost does it?

i would check the fluid first then work from that

I agree with racethisz71. My daughters car needs a P/S pump and when low on fluid, it acts just like your describing. The pump for her car was like $40.00 w/o the reservoir. Not sure about trucks...............
