pulling engine on 97 sierra k1500 vortec 350
 

I have a 1997 GMC Sierra Z71 4x4 and i recently spun a connecting rod in the vortec 350 engine and i have both motor mounts out andthe engineis all ready to come out besides unbolting the transmission. I can only see about half of the transmission bolts i know i must remove the starter and i already have the torque converter bolts taken out. Any ideas on getting to the transmission bolts on the top side?

you can get em from underneath with about a 3 ft extension and wiggler socket on the end..6 total thread into the block

you can get the bottom 4 bolts from under it and i was able to lean over the top to get to the top 2. like argon said 6 total 3 on each side.

yeah i just put replaced the motor in my 93 and i got the top 2 bolts for reaching behind the distributor it wasnt really that bad... thats the way i would reccomend.
