Where did you find that deal. Anyone know of companies that sell motors like that shipped? I would rather just replace the motor i think than spend that kind of money on just heads

Oh yeha and as far as the Steal Sill stuff... not a chance buddy. Only if I was stuck on side of the road. Stop leaks stops up everything.... Just my experience.

I kinda agree on the over the counter stop leak stuff. That has to be attatching itself to everything like the radiator, heater core, and the throttle body on my truck. My mechanic gave me the service bullitin. They say look for the Castek brand heads. The crack happens at the head bolt. The say if you are getting water in your oil and you have these Castek heads its probaly a cracked head not just a head gasket. If you dont have these heads then its a head gasket.

I will try to scan and attatch the bullitin. The one pics shows where the crack happens in blue.

So i decided to buy a used motor from Schram Auto Parts. I am getting a 5.3 out of an 06 silverado with 30k miles. They pulled the valve covers to confirm the new motor does not have Castech heads. It is a complete motor minus the intake and throttle body. I wil reuse my old ones. Also getting a 1yr 15k mile warranty parts and labor, which is 180 bucks extra. The motor is 750 and 180 bucks for the warranty.
If i were to get new heads it was going to be between 2500-3000k. Rebuit motor was going to cost me 3500. So i figured as long as the new motor does not have the crappy heads then should be fine, I hope.
