Cool putting 285s on a 2000 silverado 1500

I have a 2000 4x4 chevy silverado 1500 with stock 265-75-16s. I have the 5.3 liter v8 with the z71 package. I plan on putting 285-75-16 all terrain tires on soon to give it a more aggressive stance. Clearance isn't what im worried about, i've been wondering how much will this affect gas mileage on stock wheels? Some people say none, some people say a lot. Let me know anybody who has done this.

I got about 15 mpg, but have never had stock size tires so I don't know what the difference is.

I'm not sure of the exact numbers... But you may notice you may have to put your foot in it a little further to get it to move like your accustom to.

Expect a little tire rubbing when your doing tight turns. You may have to invest in a 2" leveling kit.

My buddy did on his 99 because the cat needed replaced but when they're gone you'll have a code up constantly, I hate having the code especially since it didn't really make a huge difference in sound but it was a good amount louder.
