Question on K&N Air Intake System
Installed easily, directions included...no worries...until
Turned enigne over. Now I have a Service Engine light on my dash illuminated.
Went back, check all electrical hookups. Checked to ensure mass air filter mounted in correct position. Checked air sensor hook up. No love.
Any input?

My father inlaw said the dealership service manager told him he was going to tear his 2001 Silv. up with the K&N and to take it off. I find it hard to believe it would hurt the truck but it sure scared him into removing it.
The service manager is an idiot. the worse the K&N will do, is if it is over oiled it will cause the MAF to malfuction. in that case, just clean the MAF and oil the K&N correctly.
I installed the FIPK Kit when i bought the truck 3 yrs ago. Never a code or nothing, and i oil it about every year. I have the Flowmaster 50 series on it right now but......... and anyone can chime in, but i think when i need another muffler, i may go with the next loudest series. Not sure what that would be though. I have a catback system with single in, dual out, straight out the rear. Let me know if theres anything just a wee bit louder than the 50 series Flowmaster mufflers, as i still want to get an inspection sticker. Thanx, Jim
