Question for SC guys
Is it against law to operate ur truck without a bed on it? even if u have taillights etc...?
|
I know this isn't 100% but I do see a lot of trucks running around here like that. If it has all the proper lighting and indicators and a bumper I don't see why it would matter, but I don't have a badge so what do I know.

It doesn't need a bumper

Oh OK I guess I was thinking about Florida's laws (thats where I am from). I had a custom Toyota truck when I was younger and I first got a ticket for no bumper (and I had a bed on it) so I went and bought one. Then the same A-HOLE cop pulls me over for my bumper being too low - I fought it and won. I think the jerk just had an issue with lowered trucks. He pulled me over a 3rd time for supposedly changing lanes too fast. I fought it and he was ordered to leave me alone. Each time he pulled me over he unlawfully searched my vehicle like I was transporting drugs or something. He soon found out that I was just a hard working kid that put a lot of money in my truck. He accused me of being a thief when he saw I had Toyota Supra seats too. They were a commonly stolen item, but mine came from a junk yard. It's funny to think how people judge you by what you drive! OK story time is over.

Guess i'll either,
A: ask a cop B: find out hard way lol |
i would try to call your local department of motor vehicals maybe even the department of transportation or the department of saftey
i know where i live (iowa) i see it all the time trucks with no beds i think its pointless but anyway there all over like crazy here but yes they have to have a bumper and all apropriate lights and what nots or i would try and call a local police station and ask them or even try a dealership or state inspection if any where you live to find out so you wont find out the hard way let us know what you find out |
