Well, its getting from bad to worse, now getting low oil pressure at idle, so guess the bearings are shot.I suspect the failed intake gasket a had change a while back didnt help the situation. Its a shame..130K miles on the truck and everything else is in good shape.

Low oil pressure on a guage or dash light?
If it's a dash light you may have been running low pressure for a while, time for a rebuild.
Silly question, did you check the oil level?

if somebody used abrasive discs to clean the heads on your intake job....the abrasive dust clogged your oil pickup tube....i'd ask questions

Yeah, oil level is good. Funny thing, ever since the intake job (about 6 months ago), the pressure was higher than before the intake job. At idle prior to intake job, was running about 40 psi at idle, after intake job, close to 60.
I will say this...when the intake failed, there was considerable water in oil, so maybe i've just been lucky so far.
At any rate, i'm gonna drop the pan to take a peek. From the looks of it, I wont have to jack up the engine to remove the pan

Whatever you do DONT give up on the truck. Those motors are a dime a dozen here in washington and I'm sure everywhere eles. At the Pull A Part here, if you find a goodmotor and pull it yourself it's only 100 bucks.

Well, gents...after further review...I got lucky. Finally got a chance to crawl under the truck. Seal OK....Turned out the Oil pressure sending unit was the culprit. Leaking like a big dog, which would also explain the irratic oil pressure. $26 bucks and some cussing (due to the location and pain in the a$$ to get to) we're all good now.
