Recovery hook strength rating question

I'm just putting together a recovery kit (snatch strap, bridle and shackles) and was wondering if anyone had information on the ratings of the vehicles recovery hooks as I can't seem to find any anywhere. (2010 Silverado 1500 Extended Cab)

It makes sense to me to have a strap want to fail before something on the vehicle does to protect the vehicle

Anyone know any info on this?

I've been looking, but I can't find where I read it... but as I understand it A vehicle's recovery hook is rated double it's GVW (gross Vehicle Weight)

Wow! Well according to 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Review by Mike Levine its says:

Maximum gross vehicle weight rating: 7,000 pounds (4x4 crew cab, extended cab) (or 3175kg)

So that would be 2 x 3175kg = 6350kg or 6.35 metric tonnes or in reality for the sake of being pedantic 63kN

Would this be per hook?

In theory if it is then with a bridle connecting the 2 hooks it would be 127kN or 12,700KG or 12.7tonnes

I guess this is possible as the shackles I have are rated at 4.75 tonnes each
