remote start:does it hurt your truck?

i want to get remote start on my 03 silverado but my brother said he would never put remote start on anything. he said it could damage the motor or starter or even my electronics. i was gonna it professionally installed. is this true?

Lot of new vehicles have it. With no problem, actually they are nice to have.
Maybe like a lot of brother give you a hard time.lol
I probably would have it prof. installed warranty.

It sure is nice to have on cold mornings. It was 14 degrees here this morning. I leave for work before sunup. It does all the defrosting before you get in & has the cab toasty if you wait about 6-8 minutes.

I love mine...it took 2 hrs for me to install pretty simple

I guess that anything could go wrong and the starter not disengage causing damage where using the key would allow you to disengage manually. I have never had a problem with the factory installed systems and I would assume that a quality kit installed properly, professionally or not, would be as trouble free. Other posters are correct; it is nice on cold mornings or hot days to have the interior comfortable when you get in.
