Replacing diff cover - Goo or No Goo?

ShouldI use gasket maker like RTV Blue when I replace the rear differential cover?

....on top of using the gasket itself.

I am sure a little bit wouldn't hurt as long as u don't go nuts with it. I always use some sort of rtv or a product called gasga-cinch. I would just make sure all of your mating surfaces are clean and u shouldn't have a problem.

I used the RTV black and didnt have a problem with my rear leaking, like mentioned just get everything clean. And instead of putting it on top why not just use it to hold the gasket in place?

Just dry if you have a gasket

Yeah I have the gasket and I know most people use both. I just figured if I got it clean enough I could just use the gasket.
