Resetting "oil life"
 

I want to change my own oil during the Christmas holiday. No problem there. But how do I reset the "Oil Life" on the Driver Information Center? I have an '08 Silverado 1500 4WD. Thanks.

Key on engine off depress the gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. Just like the older ones!

will this work for an 03 silverado too? i changed my oil but still everytime i start my truck it says change engine oil.

On any model 2007 or newer you simply change the readout to the oil life, and hold the Check Mark Reset button down for approx 15 seconds and it will change it back to 100% for you and start counting down again.

Or key on engine off and hit the gas pedal 3 times.
