Default Restoring 1986 Silverado - Need Advice Please!

I just got a 1986 Chevy Silverado. The outside has been restored. The inside has not been touched and is in pretty bad shape. I have just started looking for the parts. Since I am a teenager I don't have a fortune to spend. I found someone who will do a headliner for me at a resonalble cost. To help me keep costs down he suggested that I order the doorpanels, seat covers and carpets myself. He is willing to install them if I can't. Are these things easy to install? I am willing to try but don't want to take a chance of ruining them if not. The window and door lock motors also have to be replaced. Is this real hard?

Also, can someone give me suggestions on where is the best place to go to order these type of parts?

Thanks for any response....I appreciate any advise I can get!

AC

Hey, LMC truck is your best bet. LMCTRUCK.COM, they will send you a magazine every couple months free. I have an 82 with 23k original miles that I am converting into a drag truck, like you I purchased my truck when I was 15 and didnt have the funds that I needed to do all new parts. What color interior do you want? I have an all blue new interior that I am going to be parting out including a new dash and white face apc cluster face gauges. What motor do you have if any right now? I am willing to help out a fellow c-10 owner because lets face it, their isnt as many around anymore and it is getting harder and harder to find parts. Plus its my favorite body style and I really want to keep it around for as long as I can!

i have an 87 r10. sametruck, different engine. as far as what you want to do, it is all simple. the headliner, however. i have not done. there are a lot of options you can go with for the other items. i tore out my carpet and insulatation pads and replaced them. didnt take but 30 min. that was about $200. i didnt put the bench seat back in tho. i bought used celica seats, made a bracket, and used them instead. i havnt done the doorpanels. but they come off easily.
