Service Traction Control
Hello,
A day or so ago I had service lights go off in my truck. The truck is a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 crew cab. In the little window that displays your mileage there are two messages that read:
Service Traction Control
Service Stabilitrak
I needed to go somewhere this morning but when I put the truck in Drive and moved forward about 20 feet I heard a loud popping sound coming from what seems like the front left near the wheel area.
I am not a mechanic by any means but I wanted to see if anyone on here knows what this might be and when I take it to a mechanic how much this is going to cost me.
My real hope is that something is just loose and needs tightening and I can do that myself. Otherwise I feel I may be looking at an expensive repair.
Thank you.
Greg

Is it cold where you're at? If so try to park it in a heated garage for 24 hours or so.
It sounds silly but on both my 02 Honda accord and my 08 Toyota Rav4 my TC, SC, and ABS lights would come on and the systems would shut off if I got any snow or ice lodged up in there.
For a hub bearing, have you noticed any humming or grinding that seems to get louder from 35-60mph and quiet down after? If you're going 40 and swerve quickly can you hear the noise heighten when you go to one side or the other? This is how I diagnose bearings
