shock life?

How many miles does a stock shock usually last? Im wondering because my truck has around 100K and I think the shocks mite be all original because the torsion keys are almost maxed out and the cv angles are barely off level. the truck still rides like a cadillac so thats why im asking?

RE: shock life?

Shocks have nothing to do with the ride hight and suspended weight. They just absorb the bounce (or shock hence name) of the truck when your riding down the road. If they are bad, you will have a stiff ride (if frozen up) or more likely a bouncy ride (if they are worn out).

yeah, you will definatly notice when you need to get new shocks.jcbst12said exactly what you need to look out for. Bouncing a whole Shi* load, or a completely stiff ride.
