Just recently bought a 1975 400hp Chev pick up for $250 with intentions to restore. Motor looks terrible but runs strong and only 104,000 original miles. Body is in just as bad looking shape but is functional. Interior is, for lack of a better word, crap. So I decided to walk to a nearby mechanic for some advice and to see if he would give me a quick run down on my recent purchase.

While there he told me that he was looking for a truck for his grandson to rebuild and that he would offer me 600 bucks for the one I had and sell me a GMC Sierra 1500 with a brand new 454 brought out of a boat and only used once for 3500. Trans is newly rebuilt and 73-88 body is in great shape.

So $2900 bucks with my truck as trade? Would you do it?

 

If it's a 73 body no, if it's an 88 body yes. But how much do you trust a guy that doesn't know if it's a 73 or an 88 body. I'd walk away.
