Silver Lake Sand Dunes - West Michigan

So last weekend I went to the Silver Lake Sand Dunes (west coast of Michigan on Lake Michigan) with a group of my buddies just to do some camping a little wheeling. Needless to say it was a blast. We didn't trailer out any of the serious toys but here are some pics.

Unfortunately the guy taking all the pictures was in my truck so I don't have too many good ones of my truck. Hopefully I can get out there again this summer with the quads and some other toys. The Chevy held her own tho and I was actually the only one able to get up one of the steeper hills. I did not find anything that I really couldn't do so for more of a challenge we drove half the day in 2 wheel. I even ended up pulling out the stroker when he buried himself to his axles at the top of a hill.

The only down side was that I got a little over excited topping one of the hills and caught some air. Now in a 4000 lb truck that is never a good thing. Something is bound to break. Too say the least I blew out the front shocks, well when I pulled them off today they were in 3 pieces. So I took the opportunity to install Rancho RS5000's that are made for the 3" lift. All I can say is THEY ARE GREAT! I would highly recommend them. The truck rides so much smoother now and I am getting the full articulation out of my lift which is a big plus!

Here are some pictures of the carnage...
