Unhappy Silverado info?

I'm raising my 12 year old grandson, who has been left a maroon 1994 Chevy Silverado by his deceased grandfather. I thought it might be a fun project for him to restore this truck, throughout his high school years, perhaps with the help of his shop teacher or adult friends of mine. Before starting this project, I'd like to find specs for the vehicle and some pictures of what it should look like. It's a 1500 Model crew cab and has the windshield visor and running boards. At one time I believe a previous owner had spent a little money to deck it out. it had an expensive speaker system and 15 disc CD changer under the rear bench seat when we got it in 1998. It also has a fancy matching topper that is curved, has front oval shaped portholes, and sort of gives the whole unit a streamlined look. I can't remember the name of the manufacturer, but I've never seen another one like it in my 63 years. Can anyone help an old lady to please her grandson by pointing me to where I can get info?
