So frustrated
It seems I've had nothing but trouble so far with this Silverado. I'll try and make my issues quick. A week ago my ignition fuse blew. Had to have a tow to the dealer where they fixed under warrenty. Since then, my Factory radio, custom amp and speakers have failed. Today I decided to pull the head unit out and see what they may have disconnected while trying to figure out the ignition fuse problem. Noticed my remote wire had been cut, so I'm assuming that is why I was getting no power to amp. Without time to fix, I pushed the HU back into place and now I have lost all HU power, turning signal sound, seat belt chime, a red light is on on my On-Star and for the life of me, I can't figure out why I lost my backlighting for my guages. I know the chimes and such run from the HU, but the guage backlighting and On-Star???? I'm afraid my airbags won't work if I need them. To get my HU to my amp, I had something similar to the pac installed and ran the RCA's to the amp from there. All worked fine for about a month and now all this trouble!!! Help! And can someone fill me in on the Pac piece I need for basic plug and play?
I have the PAC AAI-GM9 which plugs directly to the back of the stock HU, and I have a slave Cd player down in the console. For this one you must have a working slave unit for it to work, either the cd player or the tape player. The one I have has to have the GM 9 pin connector and its for 95-02 vehicles. They are very specific depending on what setup you have in your truck. Get more info from pac-audio.com
