Some Exhaust Questions
 

Hey all! So I've got an '89 chevy K2500, single cab with the long-box fleetside, 5.7L v8 and the manual 5-speed. Drives like a top and I love the thing but it just sounds D.E.A.D. Like its just the flattest, most mellow sound on the planet and it really blows. So I've been looking into some exhaust mods.

I discovered glasspacks and Cherry Bomb Extremes and the lot, and I think I have an Idea. I'd like to run a SI/DO CherryBomb Extreme and keep my Cat in (because here in UT you have to have it to pass inspections). Keep the manifolds stock as well.

Is it, crazy as it sounds, possible to run dual glasspacks on the DualOut from the CherryBomb? I want a pretty powerful sound, but maybe that'd be too much/ugly?

Also, I don't really want to have to take my truck into the shop, spend the money to get some mechanic to do what I can do on my own. Can I just use any old steel pipe I get at like Home Depot to patch it together and route my exits? Would that still be legal?
