On my 2002 1500HD Crew Cab I get a creak/groan when making left or right hand turns. The noise is more prevalent in the mornings and does seem to diminish/disappear as more miles are put on in a given day. I just had the intermediate steering shaft replaced because of the clunking noise that was there but I am still left with this creak/groan. Does this sound like something that a lube job might address or could it be indicative of a bigger problem?

 

If you haven't greased all the fittings that definitely the first thing you should do. If that doesn't help one of joints might be shot.
