Squeaking From Back Seat Noise!!!!!!!

I have a 99 and the seat folds up, when i take out my kids car seat and fold the seat up I dont hear the noise but when i put it down an hit a bump on the road i get sqeaking from the top back part of the seat. I think its where the top part of the seat sits on the "anchors" they move or kind of jump up a lil and it sqeaks real bad, my questions are?

How do I remove the top part of the seat?

An if I some rubber hose on the place where the seat sits would that keep the noise down or cut it in half? Just searching for some help.

Sounds like you need to quit doing the dirty in your truck, you wore out the back seat. Hahahaha

Sorry bout that I could help myself when I saw the subject line. But to answer your question I have no idea. Sorry, useless post. Oh well.

I had a similar squeak from my 03 too. I though it was coming from the back seat too. I was about to pull my hair out when I finally figure it out that it was not the back seat...it was the overhead light. All I did was push on it to "tighten" it back up and it's been quiet ever since.

What I would do is have someone on thier knees on the back floor and go down a dirt road so it makes the noise and have them pinpoint it. Thats always how I locate noise, just make it and take your time putting your ear up to things.

My 1999 does the same thing but only when I have an adult or 2 sitting back there. It does not make any noise when the seat is empty.

Try WD40 on the hinges.

I tried WD 40 on the hinges last week, but "pushed" in my dome light and believe it or not ive not heard the noise in 3 days. I also put my spare tired under my truck box too so it could have been a # of things but it seems to fixed now. (I HOPE) I have lived with this noise or noises for 1.5 years.

If you do need to remove the back seat, it takes 18mm... two on each side on the bottom supports, and possibly one in the middle, depending on the year. My 02 has 5 nuts, mutantz71 has a 00 that has only 4...
