Starting fluid

My 98 Suburban will not start without a shot of either. After that it will restart all day long. It has 50+ lbs of fuel pressure. Anyone here got any ideas??? Thanks in advance.

Is it pretty cold where you are at?

Nope...I'm in Southwest Florida.. It's been really cold the last couple weeks but this problem has been going on for a long time.. It used to be intermitten but now it's consistant.

I work on drilling rigs where we use diesel motors and we have to use starting fluid to first start them. I remember one guy saying once you use it on them, you always have to after that. Not sure if this true for gas motors.

This symptom used to come up with carburetors when the bowl would leak down overnight. Once you started it and filled the bowl back up, it would start all day. I don't know of anything equivalent on FI. Prime on the pump but you have good pressure. Have you measured the pressure when it won't start or after it has been running?
