starts then shuts off and wont restart
 

Ok, I know this is not a car forum, but I know you guys know everything about cars. I got a 91 bmw 318 its fuel injected, nothing fancy, 5sp gas engine. When I start it it runs for about 3-4 sec and shuts off, and will only turn over will not start after. IT has fuel, battery is strong. I am thinking fuel pump and possibly fuel filter, any suggestions from the group? Please please any help.

yep fuel pump i just had that problem and it was my fuel pump 2002 alero

Ok had a tow truck driver come to tow the car, he fiddled with something under the hood, took about 10-15 seconds and car runs fine. I was not at the car my wife was so I couldnt ask him what it was. Anyone???? Any ideas what he did???
