Steering issue - clunking and rubbing/groaning sound
I have read a good many posts about the known issue with low-speed steering on the 1500's that manifests itself with a clunking under the hood that can be heard and felt in the steering wheel. As I understand this, the fix to this is either temporary (lube) or permanent (replace the intermediate shaft). My question is this, I have the symptoms listed above but also get a moan/rub sound in low speed turns. Does this sound like a related issue? Also, I have read that a lube on the affected part(s) will run about $90. How much should I expect to spend for the replacement of the shaft for parts/installation? Thanks...
