Unhappy Steering shaft; where to find?

Sorry, been a while since I've been here.
Does anyone know where I can buy the lower steering shaft for a 91 Silverado? This is the shaft that has the rag joint attached to it. GM list it as #26003491 I've checked a lot of the vendors that carry truck parts, but apparently this part has been discontinued. Am I going to have to buy a rebuild kit?
Thanks
steve

I don't know a ton about this part, but now I'm curious. It seems that the same part number was used across many GM makes and platforms.

Is this a universal piece? And if so, can you just buy an aftermarket on amazon?

Universal? Not sure, all I know is I have run into dead-ends everywhere.
However, I did talk to a guy last night, he swears he can get the exact replacement part. Time will tell . . . . I'll keep you posted.
In the mean time, I just received a "rebuild" kit in the mail today.
