Strange noise from 2007 Silverado Crew Cab LT
 

I bought this Silverado (1500, crew cab, 5.3l LT) last year used from a dealer. Since then when I drive 65 to 80 mph and the wind is blowing (from any direction) it seems to make this whipping noise that gets pretty loud and sounds like it is come from the top of the windshield. When the wind outside isn't blowing the noise seems to go away, some but when the wind is blowing around 5mph or more it is loud enough that I have to turn up the radio. I know this sounds funny and weird but I am not joking. Has any body heard these sounds from this model and year Silverado?

i have a 2006 and i havent experienced any of the problems you are describing. i have noticed the antenna will whistle at those speeds

I have a 2008 Silverado and it does the same thing. It has done this since new. I never put it in the shop for it. Only does it in strong wind when I am on interstate.

The wind catches the weather stripping along the sides of the windshield. I talked to my dealership about this too. It happened on my 2008, and now on my 2011. they said that the fix would be to remove the stripping, add some silicone and reattach the weatherstrips. Not covered under a warranty either.
