How to remove steering column covers on a 02?

Default How to remove steering column covers on a 02?
I have a 02 Silverado and the gear selector boot is ripped. I bought a new one at the dealership and ready to install it but can't get the plastic steering column covers off??? Underneath there are three holes but nothing is in them??
