Suspension and exhaust problem
Anyone else have a 99 - 03 Silverado that have squeaking leaf-springs and rattleing exhaust? Seems like the O2 sensors are rattleing or somthing but its hard to tell as it only does it every once and awhile at idel especially when its cold.
I don't have that problem with my 01 Silverado.. I have been pretty lucky though.. The only major thing that I had to get fixed was replacing a rear drum becauseof the emergency brake.
My leaf springs really arent noisy, it was mostly the tailgate or spare tire bouncing around. Make sure you got your front end nice and greased in all 12 or 14 zerk fittings if you got a 4 wheel drive.
I keep the front end greased real well. I know you only have to do it like once a year I do it about three. It seems excessive I know but my last truck went 14 years before having to replace an idler arm, but that was it. I greased the leaf springs at the rubber pads and it worked for a little while but it came right back. As far as the heat shield goes, how hard is it to remove?
