Taking truck apart
I am in the proccess of taking my truck apart to put my new engine in. I was trying to take off the big main metal piece (I have no idea what its called) everything like the radiator, lights, fan, bumper, and side fenders connect to it. the question is do you have to take off the Side fenders to take that off.

RE: Taking truck apart
Your thinking of the rad support. Tell you the truth Im not sure. What year/make/model?

RE: Taking truck apart
You shouldn't need to pull that. Take the hood off to allow access for the engine hoist and pull the radiator to avoid damaging it.

RE: Taking truck apart
if you must pull the core support out there will be 2-4 bolts that bolt the front of the fenders to the support. the rest go down the inside of the engine compartment. it doesnt need to come out for an engine tho. i just pulled the hood and plenty of room to pull mine and put a new built one in.

RE: Taking truck apart
is that including engine and tranny at once? i dont think there is enough room

RE: Taking truck apart
what year is it. should be enough room youll prob have to tilt the combo some and go slowly to get it to come out clean. but its alot of work to dissemble that front clip for an engine when you can just do it slowly and not have to take anything off.
