TBI 7.4 motor into St Rod

Hello everyone,
I am new to this Forum; Iwondered if anyone couldprovide some adviceon a 7.4 TBI motor that I obtained to install into my St Rod. I need to run headers and wonderedhow I could eliminate the AIR Pump, smog Tubing, and cat Converter,(equipmentnot necessaryin a Rod) without setting a fault Code.

In the past I would have discarded everything and installed a Holley 4bbl, but I want to learn the FI System and figuredTBI would be the simplist for a beginner.
Thanks, Chuck.

Not sure how to pull that off exactly. Probably a kit to eliminate or modify the 02 sensor. Those TBI motors aren't that picky about engine mods. I removed the cats on my 91' 5.0 TBI without even a hiccup or engine light. Not sure about the Air Pump (never had a truck with one). They make headers for that motor with the 02 bung I know that. The heads on the TBI motors are restictive as hell, replace those with center bolt Vortech heads or something similar to uncork the motor.

Check the web for hot rod clubs. Many of the early model chevys have late model motors. They may be able to provide additional assistance.

you shouldnt have problems with codes on that motor by cutting off the catalytic converters...
