RE: which TBS should I get

Will the Carb Cleaner melt my tubing? I've seen some nasty stuff happen in the past with plastic and carb cleaner.....
Thanks for tips - I'll try it this weekend.

Unfortunately this may not help you. It only works on carbs since you are spraying past where the fuel comes in, so it burns off as fuel. For air only leaks you will have to just look real well, then put electrical tape over any areas of concern and see if you still have a leak.

Are the TBS's actually worth the money? I already have a K&N CAI kit installed and my MAF is descreened, will the intake kit still fit with the spacer?

Yes, the TBS's are certainly worth the money. Increased throttle response is the thing I noticed the most. I really didn't notice a difference in acceleration, in conjuction with the CAI it is a great addition. Do you have electric fans? If you don't, your CAI will not fit when you install the TBS. Unless, you shroud some of your fan guard. I purchased the Granatelli CAI and I had to modify the end of the CAI and cut a block section out of the fan guard. I know on performancenter.com, K&N states that there CAI's will not work with a TBS. It's a pain in the ass, but there are ways around. Let me know if I can help you any further.

No I dont have electric fans although I am considering buying some.. Does anybody know which fans work the best for the least $$$? Keep in mind I go out to the HOT California desert a lot...

If you are buying new fans, specifically for your truck, unfortunately it will not be cheap. On performancecenter.com, which has some of the best prices on the web, you will not find an electric fan set up for under 400 dollars. I'm looking for a wrecked Silverado in a junkyard, so I can take the fans that route. Also, there are other fans that you can buy and make a set up for them to fit however, I'm still researching to find what's best.

Did you guys ever find a way to get the cheapest good fans and make them work on our trucks? If I look at a junk yard what do I need to look for? A newer 05 because they didnt have them in the 99-02 right? Anyways, let me know what you have found, my TBS should get here saturday and am worried about it hitting the fan blades. How did you get yours to fit. I dont know how I am going to trim the intake the tube because the way the k&n are the clamp is pretty much to the end.
