Unloaded a chevy 383 stroker out of the back of my truck, and into my garage for building ...

My Firebird will be one happy little sports car some day. It's getting the stock 305 for now though.

But as far as work done /to/ my truck, in the near future I'll be cleaning and rebuilding my throttle body, replacing the o2 sensor and CTS. In the near future though. Have not done it yet.

I looked under my parked truck to see if any new oil had leaked out since yesterday.

Checked my fuel pressure. Plugged the fuel return line, and figured out that 8psi isn't enough to go through my regulator ... so as it turns out, I really don't have enough pressure to run the truck properly. A fuel pump is in my future.

Second, I put my glove box back in from when I was changing out my speaker. It has been floating around for far too long .... Unplugged my o2 sensor as per a recommendation from a buddy, and went for a ride.

Also my snow blower magically starts today ..... I wonder why it didn't start when there was snow on the ground .... I'm glad I have a 3yr warranty from Sears.

Replaced the fuel pump in my '89 C1500 today. Wasn't a terrible job at all. She runs like new now

Default towed a 16 foot trailer

took a bunch of stuff to the dump in my new truck
an 01 chevy silverado 4x4 crew cab 2500 hd with the 6.0
and all wheel disc brakes
towed the trailer nice couldnt even tell it was behind me

Changed out my original 1989 differential fluid. It was super fun getting the rusty cap off ... surprisingly, only one bolt gave me and issue. The fluid was super gritty and frothy like there was water in there. The oil that came out was all multi-colored and nasty. I'm so glad I got that stuff out ... The gears don't look bad, but the pinions look rather worn and shiny.

Hopefully with new fluid I'll get more life out of her

Next up: ATF fluid. That stuff is expensive, so next paycheck I'll do it. The tranny's already slipping, so hopefully this will breathe more life into it

Unbolted the bed of my 2000 Silverado Long bed. Bold were 18MM. I've had my tools doe 35 years, including my metrics, and until today, I never needed an 18MM socket or wrench. I had a brand new 18mm deep well impact socket that I purchased sometime back in the early 70's, and never had a reason to use, and I ended up purchasing an 18mm combination wrench, and an 18mm standard depth socket, to get the job completed.
The purpose of unbolting the bed is to replace the fuel pump. It had been acting up for about a year, maybe longer, and yesterday, it finally bit the dust.
Tomorrow, when I get home from work I'll hoist the bed off, and see which fuel pump I need to get.

Default 1998 C3500 454ci Silverado package dually

Today I started to investigate a metal on metal noise coming from the inspection plate exhaust hole on the starter ring gear/torque converter housing. Along with that I removed the valve cover on the left bank of the engine to investigate a valve lifter noise once I'm able to crank it again(after I fix the noise in the tranny of course). So it sat in the garage the whole day while my pride went out the window driving the wife's little Scion TC back and forth to Auto Zone nuff said.

Here comes boating season... Thinking about adding on Rock Tamers mud flaps. Attach to the rear of my ride. Any thoughts?
