On a side note, Chevy had put a theft prevention column back around 1996'ish and until recently had worked. However, newer Chevy/GM pickups and SUV's (mostly the ones that have 20" rims) have been getting stolen. Thieves are drilling holes under the steering column that allows them to turn the ignition with a screwdriver, rendering the theft-prevention column useless..

Granted, that most thieves don't do this, but something to think about when you upgrade your Truck. You may want to add "The Club" to your upgrade list.

I don;'t buy that for a second.

The ECm WILL NOT turn the fuel on if the ignition cylinder is bypassed...trust me on that.

now,if a smart crook has (And can quickly wire in) false resistors of the correct value,it can be done

Tow truck will work just the same! Then you could chop shop it, or do all the work needed to drive it. But that all just sounds like a lot of work. If a crook would just spend half of their energy in finding a job then they would be doing just fine.
