throttle body coolant bypass

I did this mod today, and all I can say is if you have not, then do it now. I noticed an increase in throttle response, milage, and acceleration. It is a great free mod.

When someone gets a chance can you snapa picture and post it. I have read MrLm7's post and don't quite understand how this is done.

That's awesome smoke!! I want to do it, but I'm most likely going to wait until I get back home in a more "normal" climate. It just concerns me doing it with temps we have here in Wyoming.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention, do this mod after your truck has been sitting all night so you don't lose much coolant. The first time I was going to do it, my truck had sat a few hours and it still spewed coolant, after sitting all night I tried again and very little coolant loss. Also be patient some of the clips are a pain to get to. 07_BOWTIE, I will try to get some pics for you today.

Will you still feel the same results if you already have a spacer? I put mine on earlier this week and its awesome - the response is alot more than I expected.

I am having trouble loading the pics, so I will try sending them to SC_CHevy to see if his will work. The parts are circled in red, and as you can see I put on the wrong size vacuum line plugs at first, but that has now been corrected. The correct size is 1/4".

I did the coolant bypass and I descreened MAF at the same time and I felt an incredible difference.

If you clamp the driver's side hose, the one that comes off the intake manifold, with small vise grips, you won't lose much coolant (drops).

Has anyone actually checked to see how much of a temp difference the bypass makes in the throttlebody? Argon, I know you're a tech, if you don't mind me askin, could this cause any damage to the TB?
