Throwin Codes??
 

I hear(read) this term all the time. Throwin codes.... How exactly do you know your truck is throwin codes. Is it the little message center w/ the engine light, or somthin else... Thanks

When the check engine light comes on there is a code for whatever caused it to come on.

So what do u need to check these codes?? Do you have to get them checked by a dealership or somthing?

You can buy yourself a very expensive scanner. Also most of the Power Programers out today will read and clear codes, but you have to be able to read the number the scanner gives you. Haynes manual and the like, will give you some definitions for codes.

Also you can go to autozone and they will check the codes for free and give you a printout of what to check and how to check it.

damn, i didnt know auto zone does that for you...i wish i would have known before...
