Tire Help?
 

I am sick of buying cheap, off-name brands that NEVER last the indicated mileage. What brand and make would make a good all season tire? I mostly drive on pavement, but I see a share of snow and mud/dirt trails. I know ONE tire can't excell at all conditions, but what are some good options? Thank you, all.

I can't answer for snow/ice, but for all other Kuhmo AT have done well for me.

The Toyo A/T'sare suppost to be good for all terrain but i have never used them so im not sure. I had the BFG AT's and didnt really like them i wont every buy them again. The Big O AT and Mastercraft CorserAT2 both look really good and i almost went with the AT2 but opted to get the more agressive CorserCT. I have also used the Sport Kings and loved them for the mud and snow but they didntmakea size with an 18 inch rim so i couldntget them.

I hope that makes as much sence to you as it dose to me. lol.

For pavement Good year eagle gt 2's and Toyo proxies work great. Had the eagles for almost 3 years, well had to change out 7. 1 from a beach party was patched and took another nailstupid nails hidden in sand right lol! 2 fromimpacts with curbes, road courses are fun, a third curb impact looked fine but blew out at a high rate of speed. And the nails also took out the rest.

Gave really good handling, not the worst in wet weather acceleration.

Had proxies since 05 lost one to a 2 inch nail, another took a good bit of a 20 mile an hour head on hit and is fine after a through inspection. Really, really good handling, it's a fun ass tire really horrible in wet weather acceleration, not really gonna go anywhere in semi icy, snow packed roads, not bad on slush. Have had 4 valve stems replaced they don't take hard cornering well at all. They start to devlop small leaks and of course getting worse going out and leaking in a few hours. If you get the hidden valve stems that solves the problem too, and makes the rim cleaner.

There ya goeverything you never wanted to know about those 2 tires lol.

I went with the toyo open country AT for my last set and they do great on any type of roads i go on. Not sure on how long they last but i have had them for ablut 8,000 miles is all.

I've gotten three years and around 70,000 miles on Michellin LTX MS tires. This incudes a TON of highway miles and frequent trips on trials for firewood. Terrific on Ice and Snow. The were the best tires I ever had on my 91' and there will be a set going on my 99' after Winter. Only thing I didn't like was the fact I had D load range on a small short bed standrard cab 4X4 which made it a little rough, but using a C range tire would have solved this.

I have Eagle GT 2 low-pro tires on my truck.Love these tires real sporty look,good handling and cornering at hi speeds.Had a nail stuck in once but didn't penetrate it enough to cause a leak.Like quick said not the worst in wet weather acceleration.These are goin to be my next set of tires.
