Tire Help. PLEASE!
 

I have a 1993 F150 ext cab 5.8 V8 that I would like to add 33" tires. I am not sure what specificly yet and that is what I would like your guys's help for. Should I get tires with lugs on them or not? I occasionally go muddin, like once a week or something like that, but it is more for looks than anything else. So what are the benefits/negatives to getting tires with lugs on them? How quick will the tread wear out compared to tires w/o them? I want them to be a little bit wider than normal tires. Metric wise what should I be lookin at?

Do you guys have any specific suggestions as far as tires go?

And when it says tread depth 17/32 what exactly does that mean? Sorry, i'm like retarded! lol.

32/32 nds is brand new tread depth.............somewhere around 2 or 3 32nds tires are legaly worn out in almost every state

Those BFGs are the pretty common tire used also teh Nitto A/T Grappers are a popular one also. Check with Discount tire tehy normally have the best prices around and or will beat everyone's... that is from my experience.

lol okay thank you for the information. nitto a/t mud grapplers are EXPENSIVVEEEE. lol. I thought about gettin an off brand of bfg a/t. Any opininos on that?

What about hankok? Do you know anything about them? My friends dad works at ford and said he could get me what he has on his truck which is 33" hankok a/t for a 50% discount. They look nice as far as the tread pattern. Anyone had any good and or bad experiences with hankok?

Okay, this should be my last question about tires, and I really do appriceate your guys's help. But what is one of the cheapest and best off brand or on A/T tire and what tire? Also I want to get 33"s, but in metric what size should I get to where the tire is 33" and is also wider like where it sticks out past the wheel wells a little bit?

Actually new street tires are somewhere between 10/32 and 11/32.

Okay, well could I fit some 33/12.50/15 BFG mud terrains or A/T on the 1993 F150? (Probaly A/T) My friends dad said they would work if I were to move the bumper up foward some. Is that correct or no? Also how much power decrease will I notice and what is the easiest way to make up for it with stock gearing w/o changing gearing?

I also thought about compromising and just going w/ 28"s or something like that, is there any suggestions for that How much power loss would I have then? Any problems clearing them?

I've been looking at some tires on ebay and I don't think any of these will clear with out a lift except the 235 75 15 but i'm just makin sure cus I would rather have the bfg a/t or the bridgestone a/t. The sizes of the tires are: 245/75/r16, 265/75/16, 235/85/16, 235/75/15, 265/75/16. Those are all A/T tires..
