Tire Sizes
Hey,
I currently own a completly Stock 1999 1500 Silverado Ext. Cab Short Box Z71, I was wondering what is the biggest size tires i can add to my truck without lifing it? |
RE: Tire Sizes
i would suggest measuring the distance from your current tires to the fender...that is your tire-to-fender clearance....once you have that, and if you tell me the current tire size, i can try to give you some idea of what will safely fit. something else you need to keep in mind...while working as a tech.i had a few customers who put huge mudders on some trucks, and they fit fine under the fender, but when they cut the wheels all the way to the sides, they hit the inner fender well. not only is that a hastle because it damages the truck and tires, but its a major safety issue. the side to side clearance while turning is usually more of an issue when changing tire width....let me know...and ill try to help you more!

RE: Tire Sizes

RE: Tire Sizes
you can fit 32s or 33s with some rubbing on tight corners
cuz my friend has 32s on his z71 truck -Jesse- |
RE: Tire Sizes
I WOULDNT GO ANY BIGGER THAN 285. NO WAY YOUR FITTING ANYTHING ELSE ON HALF TON CHEVY. I HAVE CHEVY SIVLERADO 1500 4 INCH LIFT WITH 33'S. THE ONLY WAY I CAN GET 35'S IS TO ADD 2 INCHES WITH A BODY LIFT. THAT WILL GIVE YOU AN IDEA.

305's then if you go to 315's you need atleast a body lift but 315's can be done but with scrubbing.
