Transmission Hesitation

Hello all, I am new to the site and thanks for having me. I just bought a 96 chevy silverado 2500 and when the truck is cold the transmission will hesiate going in to all gears. This seems to go away as the truck gets up to operating temps. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what could be causing this problem to happen? Thanks for everyones imput in advance.

Is this truck new to you?? Do you know it's maintenance history.
How many miles? Has it had it's 100,000 ml tranni filter and fluid flush as per owner's manual?

Sorry for the limited information. The truck is new to me. It has 128,000 miles on it and as far as I know the 100,000 mile maintenance was not performed and there is limited vehicle maintenance history available for the truck.

I think that would be a good place to start.. It needs to be done anyways.
Do the Tranni filter and gasket kit and a complete fluid change on the tranni. It may solve your sticky valve body problem when it's cold.
Did your truck come with an owner's manual? I'm pretty sure all the rest of the fluids are due to be replaced. ie: brake fluid and cooling system not to mention the motor oil
