well, it sounds like youre lookin to get muddy...:)

off roading can always damage things, just try to maintain the truck often and it should last you well. [8D]

If you are going to run bigger tires you may want to look into performance modifications as well to turn them over. For that i would recomend a new CAI and a performance computer such as a Westers tune.

i would say put the truck on air bags and drop it to the ground. if u want to rasie it up go a head. i just turned 16 and i got a 96 silverado with a VROTEC 350 V-8. im lookin to drop it and make it a street truck. i dont like trucks jaked up. i find them ugly. but do what u want.

Since it’s only been a few years since I’ve been in your shoes. . . I would recommend first “shopping” for a good deal. Pick out the wheels and tires you want. (keep in mind just how much you’ll be off road versus on. I highly recommend the super swamper thornbird series. They’re great on road and off, plus they give your truck a really cool look. If you’re doing a suspension lift, you’ll want a steering stabilizer bar. And you should consider a shock upgrade: I use Edelbrock IAS shocks on mine. Have fun and remember that it al doesn’t have to be done at once.

if you jack up a truck, you will lose some power in the translation...i would suggest different differential...its all in the gears...
