truck stuck in high 4X4 no gauges

Ihave a 2000 Silverado 4.8 motor. Just took it to the Chevy dealer to all the recalls fix. When I got it back just days later when I get in the truck, The truck is stuck in high 4x4 and all my gauges come off and on.any the service soon lights stays on. All they did was reprogramm the front air bads sensors.
Please reply with any suggestions.........The dealers says not there fault

I would fight them on this. Good chance that it is just coincidence, but get the dealership to at least find the issue (at their cost), and tell you what it was. Also there was a previous post that was similar. Look at "4 wd electrially mess up i think" on page 3 and see if that helps.

Hey, Thanks,

I did get them to check it out today. and they said it has 4 transmission codes.
they are keeping over night to check in the morning....
I did take battery cable off last night and out back on it it fixed it.
But this morning same thing. I still think it was something they did.

Probably a computer issue, throwing a code that is not having a problem. This seems to be common with all the sensors these days. Butter too many than not enough though.

Hey,

I picked up my truck today.. Now they tell me it is the ignition switch.
How hard is to replace and what is the cost of the part?

Thanks, Dale

That sounds like a load of crap to me. I have not changed on on this truck, but usually it is very easy and you can get the parts anywhere. From NAPA it runs anywhere from $15-$154 depending on vin number and tilt wheel. This seems like a big range, you will just have to look.
