Tailights work? Horn? Turnsignals?

It might be as simple as a bad or misplaced wire. What kind/make/size/year of engine?

If you get nothing on tunring the key, and you are sure the starter is hooked up correctly, check the main ground. Do the idoit lights come on when you turn the key? Sorry for all the questions but I am a little lost on exactly what it could be.

There is definately a wire crossed somewhere. I would track down that problem with thelights first. You might find the problem there be it a crossed wire, shared ground or something along those lines. I HAS to be electrical and I am willing to bet its between the ignition switch and the main fuse box. Argon will prob be of more help here.
