im sure that this has come up with lots of you over the years. but its definatly time for me to put some money into some TLC on my truck!

what things do you guys think that i should take a look at in regards to maintenance? things wearing out over time... blah blah blah

since i got this truck i have been only focused on buying accesories and **** like that but its time to put some money into the life of my vehicle.

im thinking... and please correct me:

diff flush
coolant change/flush
maybe a fuel filter

but i cant really think of anything else to check into... can you guys help me out here... i want to make this truck last forever!

Tranny service, Fan belt, synthetic oil, check the water pump for leaks. Im going through the exact same thing you are right now. After I got all my upgrades I took a hard look at itand noticed that it needs some work to stay on the road for a long time. Preventative maintenace they call it... Good luck!

THE FUEL FILTER IS A MUST!!!!! AND ALSO MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR OIL CHANGES REGULARLY...THAT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE. OH AND GM RECOMMENDS YOU CHANGE THE DIFF FLUID (FRONT AND REAR) EVERY 15000 MILES.

If you have 60,000 or more miles on her I would say do:

*Air filter if it needs it then.....

* Transmission filter and fluid change
* Differential fluid
* Transfer case fluid
* Grease the front end
* Fuel filter
* Fuel system cleaner
* Cabin filter

If you have 100,000 or more

* Transmission filter and fluid change (120,000 or more if done @ 60,000 previously)
* Differential fluid (120,000 or more if done @ 60,000 previously)
* Transfer case fluid (120,000 or more if done @ 60,000 previously)
* Fuel filter (120,000 or more if done @ 60,000 previously)
* Grease the front end
* Fuel system cleaner
* PCV
* Spark plugs and wires
* Cabin filter
* and if you can afford them replace all the O2 sensors, if you can't afford them all at once then do the two upstream and do the 2 downstream sensors at a later time.

Can we sticky this? I think this is a great thread that will come in handy for tons of people. Maybe put it in FAQ's. Just a thought.

the sensors are going to have to wait!
as for the diffs and the transfer case... oh yeah they're getting done!
i have been contemplating the spark plugs for a while... im sure its time!

i agree this should be a sticky or an FAQ
it makes me so proud to be the starter of this thread! lol

oh... i have 180000 Kilometers on my truck..which is roughly 111000 Miles...

Yeah this is great. I will be doing all of this come summer. And when I get money again. Gotta love school, keeps ya poor in hopes to be rich.

Well do good in school because even tho you make more money working right out of school and make more and more as the years go by, you also have more and more sh*t to pay for too. Do good now and it will be easier later.
