vibration in rear at highway speeds
 

09 chevy , 2500 hd , 34500 miles, bought truck used , had issue with bent rim on the rear, tire wouldnt balance , rear vibration. just bought new tires and rims from tire rack ,. they balanced the tires , put them on and still have issue. getting rebalanced today from someone else but wondering about possible driveshaft balanced problem, or rear end issue. how can u tell. unfortunately dealer will not address an issue like this. has there been any issues with the 09 2500 hd's either rear end or driveshaft problems. any help or what to look for would be appreciated.............. thanks

Strange that you have the same issue with 2 different wheels and tires. I would be looking at other things like driveshaft, u-joints, axles, etc. When did it start? Are you sure the other rim was bent? When/if it bent the rim did it damage the rear axle's? Have them get the rear wheels off the ground and put it in gear to see if you have a wobble.

If the drive shaft isn't balanced, it's possible that the weight got knocked off the drive shaft. There should be a weight on there somewhere. If it isn't there, then the drive shaft isn't balanced anymore. That simple.

You may be able to see a clean area on your driveshaft were a balancing weight may have fallen off.
It would be cheaper to buy a good used driveshaft from a wrecking yard then having the shaft removed, and balanced.

But make sure you don't have a bad universal bear first

got tires balanced and rear 2 tires are out of round, unbelievable. and developing a slight sidewall bubble on another. fighting with them now over getting a 4 totally different tires. (firestone mt)
