Volant CAI

Just for your information:

I installed a Volant CAI on my '06 Sierra Crew Cab, 5.3L, Z engine and I am totally happy with it.
The system took less than an hour to install with basic hand tools and after completing a 400 mile round trip, I found out that I had a +2 mpg increase :)

I was considering installing a Magnaflow cat-back, but now I'm going to install the Volant cat-back and see how that works.

Anyone considering a CAI should really look at the Volant system.

RE: Volant CAI

Thanks for the info.... I am installing the Volant CAI with ram air scoop tomorrow. I hope to install the Magnaflow cat-back next month - I like the look of duals and Volant only has the single out.

RE: Volant CAI

I'd like to try out the Volant intake on my Sierra but for some reason it just looks rather restrictive in the pictures. I can't see it benefiting me too much more than the ram air intake mod. Who knows, I may try it one day down the road.

RE: Volant CAI

Stay with the magnaflow exhaust, forget about the so called catback.
50% of the restriction is the cats themselves.Shop on line and buy two Magnaflow
cats added with true duel exhaust to x-pipe and two magnaflow mufflers.then out any way
you like. a good muffler shop, looks factury installed. Changing the cats will not
void your warranty. As for the Volance system it's good, you payed good amount
just for the name. The tube for a so called ram air, is good to catch bugs and rain.
