Default Weak torsion bars?

Has any lost ride height due to there torsion bars being weak? i ask this bc i bought a rough country suspension lift on my 99 gmc sierra. and it was supposed to raise my truck 6in in the front and 5 in the back and i was supposed to be able to run 35 x 12.50 after the installation. but the shop that put it on had to crank up the torsion bars an 1in and a 1/2 to get the tires to fit. this puzzeled me bc the lift is a non torsion drop system that isn't supposed to have any torsion bars adjustments. i just recently had a conversation with a rep of rough country and he said that they might of had to adjust them bc the torsion bars were weak and therefore have lost height from the factory setting. so if any one has any comments please let me know.
