What is the best way to fix this?
They may be able to get up behind the dent with some spoons and work it out. If not then second option is a spot welding dent puller. Don't let someone drill holes in the bed side and use a slide hammer, very old school and much better options out there. Not sure if they can spot paint it and get it too match.
That's too bad, there are several methods to pull that dent that doesn't include drilling holes. Still would need a small skim coat to totally smooth it out as I doubt any shop would be willing to put in the time to totally massage the dent out, but it can be done.
I pulled out the dent today. I was able to do it by taking the wheel off and working from the wheel well. Sanded the area, and primed it. Used two coats of primer over where the dent was, and it seems pretty smooth. I leave for the slope tomorrow for 5 weeks, so I probably won't get to repaint the bed panel till I get back.
