What doess eveyone think of the V6 Silverado?
I recently bought a 04 Silverado V6 and im enjoying it. Good pick up, doesnt lag with AC on (As bad as others) has solid power going up steep hills. All in all im pleased. I havent got the chance to tow or haul anything yet.
i have a 05 single v6 that i have taken some of the restrictors out of the motor and done the exhaust and intake. it makes good horsepower...and when the ac is on u can tell it. so it really depends on what u want the truck 4....
Have an 02 silverado and dont really like it. I really want the power of a V8, but it does alright. If its all u can afford than it will be fine, unless you plan to tow alot. I pulled a 1950 Ford on a dolly trailer with mine, and it made it fine on hills, but made me very nervous. Overall good, but not compareable to a V8.
I agree with natedogg, it depends what you want the truck for...if your going to build it for a show car, i think it would be fine, but if your towing and using it for work...v8 is the way to go...me personally i love the sound of a v8!!! v6 sounds kinda weird...kinda like a honda sound...lol...
I prefer the V8, V6 does not have enough power for me. I tow a boat and heavy trailer alot so aineed the extra power. Used to be people would buy the V6 to save on fuel (and initial cost) but now the 5.3 gets as good if not better fual milage than the V6. I get 22 mpg when I drive easy on the highway (that doesn't happen much - heavy foot). I would probably buy a truck from an auction or one a few years old to save the money of new cost. I do not have any experience with driving the V6 though.
well i am not building my v6 for towing.....as a matter of fact i dont have a bumper, hitch, or even a spare tire in the back...i have raced a 07 5.3 auto and smashed it.....(my truck is manual) its all waht ur looking 4 my friend......and 2 tell u the truth my truck get terrable gass milage....go threw about a 1/2 in a week and a half........
